DJI Ronin-S Review/Features (Release Date: June 2018)

DJI Ronin-S

The DJI Ronin-S is the newest handheld camera gimbal to join the DJI family, expected to debut in June 2018. This three-axis motorized gimbal stabilizer holds both mirrorless and DSLR cameras, with an offset roll motor for screen visibility. An ergonomic design means it can be used one-handed to capture next level photos and videos.

Offset Roll Motor

The Ronin-S holds the camera above the roll axis because of the offset roll motor, leaving the camera's LCD screen unblocked. This design minimizes the camera shake that occurs when transitioning from upright to underslung modes and vice versa.

One of the best aspects of the Ronin-S is the ability to adjust it to fit your shooting style. Simply customize the response of the Ronin-S to fit your shooting style. Two response types can be saved and instantly recalled with a single click. It could not be simpler! Go from smooth camera movement to rapid response with the flick of a switch, allowing you to be ready for any kind of shooting situation at a moment's notice.

Modular Design

The Ronin-S was crafted to be modular, with support for direct-connect and wireless accessories alike. DJI control devices such as the Master Wheels and Master Force enhance the usability of the Ronin-S in professional scenarios.

Another fantastic quality of the Ronan-S is it's incredible versatility. Mount it to an RC buggy for low angle shots or use it as a stabilized remote head when mounted to a jib. The DJI Focus Command Unit can be mounted to the accessory dock, allowing creators to pull focus when operating with the standard handle. Plus, you can attach the Ronin-S to a dual-handheld bar without compromising control of the gimbal, focus, or the camera shutter!

Multiple accessory mounts are housed on the Ronin-S, delivering full support for add-ons such as a microphone, LED lights, and even a wireless video transmitter. Intituitive controls are available through DJI control devices like Master Force. Additionally, Master Wheels can provide remote operators with extremely precise gimbal movements.
