The Big Differences

Decreased Noise Power: The most significant changes to the Phantom occur under the hood, specifically the inclusion OcuSync HD Video Transmission system and the FOC sinusoidal driver ESCs. This new propulsion system is paired with 9455S quick-release propellers to reduce the noise power up to 60%. Even with a simple visual inspection you can notice the difference in the propellers, with wingtips that emulate those on commercial airplanes:

Ultimately these aerodynamic propellers are quieter and provide increased stability, resulting in a more enjoyable overall flight. They represent a small but valuable upgrade over the Phantom 4 Pro.

Mechanical Shutter: One noteworthy improvement on this drone is the mechanical shutter of the onboard camera. It is the first DJI camera to use a mechanical shutter, efffectively eliminating rolling shutter distortion that can occur when taking images of fast-moving objects and/or when flying at high speed.

Remote Controller:  Although the Phantom 4 Pro+ came with a built-in screen, the Phantom 4 Pro+ V2.0 has switched out the LightBridge transmission system for the OcuSync HD Video Transmission system, allowing for a wireless connection with the DJI Goggles RE. This transmission system emplys time-division multiplexing technology to send control signal and receive video signal simultaneously. Once powered on, the OcuSync system scans for the frequency band with the lowest interference and switches accordingly to maintain clear transmission.

Drone pilots can enjoy 5 hours of battery life with this remote controller and experience the 4.3 mile (7km) OcuSync transmission ability of this incredible device.

What Hasn't Changed

One of the most frequently asked questions relates to what has stayed the same, what Phantom 4 Pro owners may not be impressed about regarding the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0.

  • Despite the new ESCs, this flight time remains the same at 30 minutes
  • The Vision system is the same, with Forward, Backward, and Downward directions all represented
  • Front & Rear Obstacle Sensing is present in both drones, as well as Left and Right Infrared Obstacle Avoidance
